FLASH FICTION PROMPT

“It’s a crescent moon!”

“Really? Where, I can’t see it-ooh!” Lily flopped onto the grass,
uncaring of her new Sunday dress.
“It’s pretty, Bea.” She flashed a
smile at her friend. “It’s so pretty and so white!”

“I know. Daddy told me about it yesterday. We watched it from the porch.”

“It’s special?”

“Yeah, it’s special.”

“Think there’s a fairy in the moon?”

“Maybe.” Bea wrinkled her nose. “I don’t know. I’d much rather a fairy though, than an old man that eats cheese.”

The girls giggled together in the evening’s final glow.
