FLASH FICTION PROMPT
“Popcorn!” Jaime skidded into the kitchen with the paper bag
clutched tight between his fingers. “Dad, dad, dad!” He chirped. He
danced around his parents in excitement, waving the sack with the
popcorn kernels. “It was Aunty Suzy’s idea!”

“Calm down, squirt.” The older man bent down to scoop the kid into
a warm hug. “I haven’t see you all day.” He hugged him tight. “Did you
have fun at Aunt Suzy’s?”
“Yeah and she gave us special popcorn!”
“Special popcorn?”
“Yeah. We need a popcorn popper though, but an old one, not a real one!”
“An old-?” He reached for the sack and opened it. Understanding dawned at once. “Ah, well, we do have an old popper.”
“Is it special?”
“Yep, it’s special.”

A/N: There was cinnamon and sugar in the bag with the popcorn kernels. It would make a caramel styled sweet popcorn mix. 🙂
