FLASH FICTION PROMPT
She’s walking down the corridor again, with that happy, carefree
smile that makes too many heads turn. I could yell at her. I could
shout and growl and snarl. But I won’t. I’ll stand still and watch with
pained eyes and clenched fists.
Because she means the world to me.
She’ll go on and live a happier life than I can give her and I won’t
complain. I won’t even dream of thinking of interfering. I’ll just stand
here and let her walk by.
Because she means the world to me.
As she’s passing with the breath of every season wrapped around her.
The smile she smiles for me, makes my heart bleed and burn.
Yet we are pawns. Pieces in a game that never grows old.
Because she is my planet and I will never leave orbit.
