Heart’s Poetry
I would’ve given you all of my heart
But I’ve ruined it and torn it apart
I can’t believe what a mess that I’ve made
Of something precious and so freely saved
I don’t understand what you want
I don’t get why you think I’m the one
There’s got to be something wrong
I can’t possibly be the one in your song
Our differences push us away
No matter what you try to say
I could and leave you alone
But somehow, you’re really my home
It’s a tangled-up tapestry
An unwritten mystery
I guess it’s just easy to say
In my own twisted little way
This is all I have to offer to you
A bit of poetry, silver and new.
